What we learn?
In our Upper Elementary program, students build strong bilingual and biliterate skills while mastering the academic foundations they need for middle school. They learn to read with confidence, understand complex texts, write organized paragraphs and essays in English and Spanish, strengthen grammar, develop clear communication skills, and grow in math through multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and real-life problem solving. Every lesson is designed with a brain-based, structured approach and includes hands-on activities, science investigations, meaningful projects, and biblical integration that helps students grow in wisdom, character, and confidence.

Schedule and Program Placing
Every student begins with a placement questionnaire so we can understand their level, strengths, needs, and language background. Based on the results, we design a personalized plan that includes the most important subjects for their growth. All students receive a balanced 50% English and 50% Spanish schedule from Monday to Thursday, ensuring strong bilingual and biliterate development while building solid skills in reading, writing, math, science, and Christian character.
What makes HSA different?
At Happy Sunshine Academy, your child is not a number — they are fully known, loved, and guided. Our students develop real leadership skills, practice responsibility, and grow in confidence by having daily opportunities to use their gifts, speak, participate, and lead activities in class. We also create a personalized learning plan for every student based on a parent questionnaire, helping each child build on their strengths and strengthen their weaknesses. Students receive 40–80 minutes of live learning Monday through Thursday, with a balanced 50% English and 50% Spanish model that develops true biliteracy. And when a child needs extra support, we provide Friday tutoring groups to help them grow with confidence.
